From Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Śvānāsana), the forearms are planted onto the earth with the elbows narrow and the palms flat in a Sphinx (Sālamba Bhujaṅgāsana) position. The pelvis is tucked. The ribcage lifted. One leg is straight and rooted to the earth, while the other reaches straight towards the sky. The gaze is down and slightly forward.
